Lesson 4 - Objectives 3-5 (Tuesday)
B04-03 Skill: Using the character and paragraph panels
Objectives:
The Character and Paragraph panels are found in Photoshop's Window menu. They provide a broad range of type adjustments that give you nearly total control over how type looks in your document. Please work through the tutorial, Skill: Using the Character & Paragraph Panels. |
B04-04 Skill: Use grids for design layouts
Objectives:
To help with alignment, designers use grids. Grids provide one way to design a document that will provide a consistent alignment throughout. In the tutorial Use Grids for Design Layouts, I will show you how to set up and use a grid layout design. I will also walk you through designing your first portfolio exhibit - a screen display for middle school students in the USU GearUp program. I model how a graphic designer considers creating a professional looking graphic design. I will model what I'm looking for in your portfolio description, too. A few other grid resources are available in the resources section of this site. You will need to set up your online portfolio for this week's portfolio assignment. Please review how to do that and get yours set up. When you submit your portfolio assignment in Canvas, please add the URL for your portfolio image and description in the assignment comments. |
