Video: How to use Smart Objects in Photoshop CC (5:06)
Watch the video: How to use Smart Objects in Photoshop CC to learn what a smart object is and how to use it.  When you convert a layer into a smart object, you're putting it into a protective package - so you can warp or distort it anyway you want, without hurting the original image.  Look at the image of the coffee cup as an example.  The text was warped so it would wrap around the cup.  You can continue to work with it - warp it in other ways - without losing any resolution or image data.

Apply: Exercise B05-04
Here is the photo of the original cup without any text. Download it and try wrapping your name around it. Having trouble?  Watch this video... When finished with this exercise, save it as B05-04_Your_Name.PSD. This exercise or another with an image of your own that you warp to fit an object would make a great portfolio exhibit 2.
