Lesson 9 - Objectives 1-2 (Monday)
In lesson 5, you were introduced to some of the healing and retouching tools that Photoshop has. In this lesson, we'll go into more detail. Let's start with the healing brush and patch tools. Watch the two videos below. Then click here to download the public domain image of the redheaded model and try it yourself! In the assignment for lesson 9, you'll be asked to submit two of these practice exercises. I strongly encourage you to try each one on your own. If you choose to submit this one, save it as a Photoshop file, and name it B09-01-YourName.psd
Image: Before (left) and after (right) retouching. The healing brushes are extremely powerful pixel manipulation tools! I also used an adjustment layer to bring up the shadows in her face.
Here, we'll introduce you to a filter - surface blur - and then use the healing brush tools to smith skin and pores. Watch the two videos below, and then click here to download the public domain image of the thinking lady and try it yourself! If you choose to submit this one, save it as a Photoshop file, and name it B09-02-YourName.psd You may need to use a couple of adjustment layers to correct the color as well.
