Lesson 13 - Objectives 5-6 (Thursday)
B13-05 Skill - Using camera raw as a filter
Learn:
You learned about Camera Raw back in lesson 2. In Photoshop CC, camera raw has been added as one of the filters. So everything you've learned to do in camera raw can now be added as a smart filter in Photoshop. The advantage of having camera raw as a Photoshop filter us that it can be used on any layer in your image. If you convert your layer into a smart object, that filter is non-destructive, and you can go back in and edit it at any time. You can also use a layer mask with it to give you even more precise control. The video at right demonstrates how to use the camera raw filter in Photoshop. |
B13-06 Skill - Applying a filter to multiple layers in Photoshop
Objectives:
- Learn how to apply a filter to more than one layer at a time.
Learn:
You can apply a filter to more than one layer at a time. The trick to doing that is to select all the layers you want the filter to effect, and then right mouse button click on any of the selected layers and choose "convert to smart object." Once those layers are safely protected in a smart object, you can apply any filter you wish to them all at once.
