Adobe Bridge is a free digital asset management app made by Adobe Systems.
Students, If you've not already done so, please complete the Pre-class preparation lesson before beginning this one!

USU Canvas Resources and Assignment for this week...​What is the experience I want you to have?

​​We're going to begin this course by first learning about Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw. By the end of lesson 1, you will be able to organize your own photos and images using Adobe Bridge. You will be able to add keywords and metadata to your images so you can filter down to only those you want to see in Bridge. You'll be able to open images from Bridge in Photoshop and Camera Raw.

(See image above) If you're not a registered USU student, and you are working through this lesson on your own, here's a link to the exercise files for lesson 1.

Objectives (Suggested division of work time through the week)

Section 01-A (Monday)
  • Class welcome and overview, policies, and procedures
  • Overview of Photoshop, Bridge, and Camera Raw
  • Import, find, and view your files in Adobe Bridge
  • ​​Become familiar with the Bridge interface
​Section 01-B (Tuesday)
  • Work with thumbnail views in Bridge (Exercise B01-05)
  • Work with file names and batch renaming (Exercise B01-06)
  • Add metadata & keywords to organize your images  (Exercise B01-07)
  • Review Mode and filtering your images in Bridge
  • Save images in collections (Exercise B01-09)
Section 01-C (Wednesday)
  • Rate and label images (Exercise B01-10)
  • Create and use smart collections
  • Organize images into stacks (Exercise B01-12)
  • Familiarize yourself with the Photoshop tool names
Section 01-D (Thursday)
  • Visual Communication
  • Instructional Graphics
  • Pixels and Resolution
 (Friday - Weekend: Practice! Start organizing images of your own!)
