Lesson 6 - Working with Photoshop Layers - Understanding Color
After completing this lesson, you should be more comfortable understanding and working with layers in Photoshop. Add to that what you've learned already about photoshop and the principles of contrast, alignment, repetition, proximity, and color - you have some basic knowledge and skills to do some impressive Photoshop design work. This week, the two exercise files ask you to do just that - design graphics that apply what you have learned so far.

Layers are awesome! With layers you can build your own composite image. Each layer is editable without disturbing any of the other layers. At right is my portfolio exhibit attempt at playing with layers and color gradients.
