Experience:
After completing this lesson, you should be more comfortable understanding and working with layers in Photoshop. Add to that what you've learned already about photoshop and the principles of contrast, alignment, repetition, proximity, and color - you have some basic knowledge and skills to do some impressive Photoshop design work. This week you'll be tasked with creating a conference 2018 poster for UCET, The Utah Coalition for Educational Technology. It will give you the opportunity to try out your new knowledge and tool skills.

Objectives:
Section 06-A (Monday)
  • What are layers and how do they work
  • Layer basics
Section 06-B (Tuesday)
  • Moving and transforming layers
  • Organizing layers - layer groups
  • Merging, rasterizing, and flattening layers
Section 06-C (Wednesday)
  • Layer shortcuts
  • Design - Color
Section 06-D (Thursday)
  • Saving files for the web (internet)
  • Photoshop's color modes

Review - Critiques - Share Techniques
We will take a look at the portfolio exhibit 2 submissions for lesson 5.  Let's share critiques and procedures we've learned with each other. I've created a graded discussion (5 points) in Canvas for this.  The purpose of this is to learn from each other, and help each other grow in our design and Photoshop skills.  We'll look at how the final images were composed and talk about the general rules of composition.
